  1. “Lost Sheep and Lost Coin”

  2. Ezekiel 34:1-2 (NIV) The Lord Will Be Israel’s Shepherd  The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?

  3. Psalm 23:1-6 (NIV) 1The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.2     He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters,3     he refreshes my soul.He guides me along the right paths    for his name’s sake.4 Even though I walk    through the darkest valley,[a]I will fear no evil,    for you are with me;your rod and your staff,    they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me    in the presence of my enemies.You anoint my head with oil;    my cup overflows.6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me    all the days of my life,and I will dwell in the house of the Lord    forever.

  4. Pharisee definition of a sinner: • Immoral • Undesirable occupation, ie… shepherd

  5. Luke 15:1-3 (NIV) The Parable of the Lost Sheep  Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” 3 Then Jesus told them this parable:

  6. Psalm 40:2-3 (NIV) 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,    out of the mud and mire;he set my feet on a rock    and gave me a firm place to stand.3 He put a new song in my mouth,    a hymn of praise to our God.Many will see and fear the Lord    and put their trust in him.

  7. 1 Samuel 16:6-7 (NIV) 6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.” 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

  8. Isaiah 53:6a (KJV) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;

  9. Isaiah 53:6b (KJV) and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

  10. Eyes closed putting a finger blindly on a Bible verse in order to look up direction for their live

  11. 1 Chronicles 10:4 (KJV) 4 Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

  12. Luke 10:37 (NIV) 37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

  13. Isaiah 53:3-5 (NIV) 3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

  14. Isaiah 53:6-7 (NIV) 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

  15. Isaiah 53:8-9 (NIV) 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

  16. “A Rocking R”

  17. Luke 15:8-10 (NIV) The Parable of the Lost Coin 8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

  18. “Get all you can, can it, and sit on your can.” Pastor Dennis

  19. Table Sharing Since we are all lost sheep, who has helped you back to safety? What one thing can we do to be more welcoming to visitors and regulars?
