  4. Arabian • Show horses • You can tell if they are an Arabian by they way they carry their tail • They are used for jumping and cross country

  5. appaloosa • Not only a breed but a color • There are many types, (dapple, blanket, and leopard) • There nick name is the appy

  6. thoroughbred • Race horses • Used for jumping • Tall • Athletic

  7. standard bred • Track trotter • Have 8 gaits • They don’t run they trot or pace • tall

  8. Tennessee walker • Gaits instead of trots • Shows in gaited classes • Used for trail riding

  9. Akhal-teke • Eyes are almond shape • There coats look like a gold overlay • They are usually 15 to 16.5 hands

  10. Facts • Horses CAN’T have meat • They have locked jaws which means they have to close their mouths before reopening • They eat 10% of their weight • They can way up to 1000-2000 pounds • So yes it hurts if they fall on you
