  1. STORIES AND TAILS This program will allow children and families to read aloud to a therapy dog, which can improve reading and communication skills. The objective is to improve literacy levels and promote a positive reading environment. This program is sponsored by the Fort Knox American Red Cross. Saturday, August 9, 2014 1:00-2:00 Drawing with Shapes Join us as we draw with shapes to create a frog, bear, fire truck, and a house with squares, circles, ovals, and rectangles. Ages 2-5, no registration required. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 11:00– 12:00 Make It & Take It Selection of crafts to choose from. Pick a craft or crafts to create. Supplies are provided. August 9, 2014 11:30-12:30 Children’s Room Story Hour Resumes Monday, August 11, 2014 NEW-Bingo For Books An hour of bingo fun for the whole family with children’s books as prizes. Monday, August 11, 2014 5:00-6:00 Hardin County Public LibraryAugust Youth Newsletter Youth Book Clubs K-2nd grades Tuesdays (see calendar) 4:00-5:00 Children’s Room Youth Book Club Grades 3-5 Wednesdays (see calendar) 4:00-5:00 Children’s Room Counting Day Come count with us as we read counting books, do a counting activity, and make a counting craft. Ages 2-5, no registration required. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 11:00-12:00 Train Day Come explore the world of trains with us as we read train stories, make a train craft , work a train puzzle and more. Ages 2-5, no registration required. Tweens and Teens Wii Gaming Day August 8, 2014 4:00-5:30 Children’s Room Snacks provided Teens only Anime Club Friday, August 15, 2014 4:30-5:30 Discuss anime, watch anime, and learn about Japanese culture. Animal of the Month Club Our featured animal this month will be Douglas a real baby Hedge Hog. Come out and meet Douglas as we learn all about Hedge Hogs. Ages 2-5, no registration required.
