Why do people migrate? • Push Factor – reasons people leave their homes & migrate (ex. civil war) • Pull Factor – positive aspects of a different place that encourage people to immigrate (i.e. job opportunity) • Guest Worker – person with allowance to work in a country different than home temporarily • Refugee – person who is forced to leave home because of dire threats to well-being • Evacuee – person who temporarily leaves home due to an imminent threat
