  1. Writing As Social Change ERWC Mini-Project

  2. Why? • ERWC Unit Objective: Use writing to propose social change.

  3. AudreLorde Asks: • What are the words you do not yet have? What do you need to say?

  4. Mini Project Assignment • You’ve seen lots of models of writers trying to make some larger point and bring about social change. Now it is your turn to be that writer. • Create a poem, song, speech, short story, commercial, or short film to give voice to the issue of your choosing. Your goal is to bring awareness and begin the change that you see necessary.

  5. Requirements: • Max 3-5 minutes for performance • That’s about 2-3 pages for a poem • 2 pages for a story (true or fiction) • Must be presented in class—either live or recorded. • A visual, either how you use nonverbal communication or something you bring in. • Due: Tuesday 3/20/14
