Ontario Wind Turbines • Over 900 windmills in Ontario/ internationally 68,000 turbines have been installed over the last 25 years. • Shelburne = 133 turbines • Wolfe Island = 86 turbines • Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has been denying that they’ve tracked more than 200 complaints going back to 2006 when the first turbines were installed.

  3. Conclusion • Currently available scientific evidence does NOT support a causal relationship between turbine noise and health

  4. Other Potential Health Hazards of Wind Turbines • Electromagnetic fields (EMF)—very low levels • Shadow flicker (affects 3% of epileptics), but the level from turbines is below the trigger level • Ice throw & ice shed—ice is flung off the rotating blades at distances up to 100 meters • Structural hazards—blades break off (max. blade 150 meters, max. fragments flung 500 meters.
