  1. WW1 Ends – The Treaty of Versailles WW1 fighting stop on 11 November 1918. The 1919 Treaty of Versailles was the peace treaty which officially ended WW1. The treaty took six months to negotiate. The peace talks occurred in Paris.

  2. WW1 Ends – The Treaty of Versailles The Treaty of Versailles had four conditions: In the treaty, Germany had to: Accept full responsibility for starting WW1 Give up its colonies and return the land taken in the Franco-Prussian War to France Restrict its army to 100,000 soldiers, as well as no tanks, poison gas or heavy artillery, etc. Pay for war damages. Was the Treaty of Versailles fair to Germany?

  3. WW1 Ends – The Treaty of Versailles Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles under protest. The Germans claimed they did not start the war. The Germans thought other countries such as Austria-Hungary should also pay for war damages. Do you agree with the German argument? Should other countries share responsibility for war and damages? We know that Germany starts WWII in Do you think the Treaty of Versailles may have caused WWII?

  4. WW1 Ends – The Treaty of Versailles Now recall, Canada entered WW1 because Canada was part of the British Empire. Canada had no choice. During WW1, Canadians fought bravely in many battles including Vimy Ridge. The Canadian effort at Vimy has been called the “Birth of a Nation.” Many Canadians died Do you think WW1 changed Canada’s role in the world? Could Canada ask for more independence from Great Britain?

  5. WW1 Ends – The Treaty of Versailles Canada’s international role did change. Canada signed the Treaty of Versailles as an independent nation. Great Britain did not sign on Canada’s behalf. Canada gained the respect of many countries. Canada sought greater autonomy from Great Britain in all Canada’s international affairs. Canada increased its trade with other countries.
