  1. Using the DegreeWorks’ Advising Notes Feature Information for Faculty and Advisors, Spring 2009

  2. To Begin… • Log in to myCats. • Select the Faculty Tab. • Click on DegreeWorks. • Select a student using the instructions on the screen. (For a more detailed tutorial on logging in or searching for students, see our Online Tutorial) • Click on the Notes Tab at the top of the screen.

  3. To add a new advising note… Click the Add Note button.

  4. Click the drop down menu to access a list of predefined notes.

  5. Select the note you want to add. You may select as many notes from the drop down box as you’d like.

  6. Review your note. If you’ve made a mistake and need to begin again, click the clear button.

  7. If you do not want the note you entered to be visible to your advisee, click the box by “not available to student.”

  8. When you are finished reviewing your note, click the save button to post it to the student’s record.

  9. A message will appear on the screen to verify that your note was added successfully.

  10. To view an advising note… If you would like to view your note or other notes on the student’s record, click the View Notes button at any time.
