  1. Fresh Hope A Study in Ezekiel 36 & 37 Ezekiel 37:8-10

  2. Fresh Hope Rom 5 3 We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. 4 And patience produces character, & character produces hope. 5 And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us. NCV

  3. Fresh Hope Hope: the confident expectation & anticipation of good, improvement or a positive end result to a desire.

  4. 1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Ability to Give New Life- Eze 37:8-10 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews & the flesh came upon them, & the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

  5. 1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Ability to Give New Life- Eze 37:8-10 9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, & say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, & breathe on these slain, that they may live.”

  6. 1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Ability to Give New Life- Eze 37:8-10 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, & breath came into them, & they lived, & stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

  7. God’s power to change any situation, is essential to fresh hope. With it, no situation is hopeless… without it, we are left to try to “raise the dead” in our own strength.

  8. Romans 15 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy & peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  9. a) God’s power causes movement 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews & the flesh came upon them, & the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

  10. Every time the power of God touches man, something happens. Hope comes from the fact that we are not stuck, but have access to the power of God to change things.

  11. Isaiah 40 29 He gives power to the weak, & to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint & be weary, & the young men shall utterly fall,

  12. Isaiah 40 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run & not be weary, They shall walk & not faint.

  13. b) God’s power gives new life 9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, & say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, & breathe on these slain, that they may live.”

  14. God’s has power to create and recreate, bringing about what we cannot see or imagine. Hope grows as we believe in God’s power to bring something new into our life.

  15. Rom 4 17 As it is written in the Scriptures: "I am making you a father of many nations." This is true before God, the God Abraham believed, the God who gives life to the dead & who creates something out of nothing. NCV

  16. Rom 4 18 There was no hope that Abraham would have children. But Abraham believed God & continued hoping, & so he became the father of many nations. As God told him, "Your descendants also will be too many to count."NCV

  17. c) God’s power creates something good 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, & breath came into them, & they lived, & stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

  18. What God creates is always ultimately good & for our good, which is what hope looks for.

  19. Acts 10 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit & with power, who went about doing good& healingall who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

  20. 1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Ability to Give New Life- Eze 37:8-10 Do I believe the power of God can give me fresh hope?
