  2. Haven Fall Festival • Around Halloween time, we had a fall festival for children from the Haven. We had face painting, various different games, and LOTS of candy! The kids seemed like they really enjoyed themselves and I was happy to know that I gave them a couple good memories to overshadow the bad ones.

  3. Relay For Life • At Relay for Life, I walked for thirty minutes. I also participated in dressing the male contestant for the Mr. Relay competition. I loved looking at everybody’s different themed tents. It was a very emotional night.

  4. The bags lined the path in which participants walked to remember those who had survived cancer and those who were lost to this awful disease.

  5. This is my friend and me in our Freshman Year Experience tent at Relay for Life. We stayed at Relay from 7:30-1:30 in the morning.

  6. Animal Shelter • I volunteered at the animal shelter. This was very sad and heartbreaking for me, considering I am very sensitive to animals. We cleaned out dog kennels and cages as well as giving several dogs baths.

  7. This is a puppy that I adopted from the animal shelter. When I first got her, she would hide underneath or behind anything that she could. She was very skittish and if was clear that she had been beaten. After volunteering at the animal shelter, I realized how many animals need our help which is what inspired me to save this puppy.

  8. BLAZER RAISER! For the Blazer Raiser, we raised money for the VSU tennis team. We sat at the door and sold t-shirts. Tennis players were bid off to people to play with them at the tournament the next day. It was really fun!
