  2. Welcome Back! Time to Reflect… Around the gene…you can alter the genes you’ve been given with the decisions you make including diet, exercise, stress level and attitude. Epigenetics means… Part of the brain that is strongest during puberty… Part of the brain that is weakest during puberty… How will this knowledge impact your behavior goal project this year? Amygdala Frontal Lobe

  3. Reflection Which wellness area is currently your strongest? Which wellness area is currently your least strong? What are you involved in this spring (sports, clubs, interests, hobbies, etc.)? What are you involved in this summer (sports, clubs, interests, hobbies, etc.)?

  4. Your Goal Should be S.M.A.R.T. • S – specific • M – measurable • A – achievable • R – realistic • T – timed

  5. Choose from the 8 areas of wellness, pick more than one! You do not have to accomplish this overnight. Lay out a week by week or day by day plan to gradually reach your goal. Also, consider a backup plan. You must pick 3 Pay very close attention to the directions… calendars don’t count if they’re not signed, a picture doesn’t count if there’s only one, etc.

  6. Must be signed by the first presentation. Feel free to attach your research if it doesn’t fit here. 1 – April 19 2 – May 3 3 – May 20

  7. Things You Can Do Today: • Finish filling out your behavior goal paper – it’s due Friday. • Research about your goal – how do you reach it? Who is a role model? What are the health benefits? Your presentations require factual info! • Work on your proof – make a calendar, print it out, create a graph or chart for you to complete, build a Power Point to display your pictures / video. • Prepare your speech on Friday. You’ll be summarizing your plan and sharing your research. • Look at the example posters and projects for ideas.

  8. Behavior Goal Work Day! Please grab yourself a laptop from the desks or window sills. We’ll do our exercises and talk about today’s tasks while you log in.

  9. Things You Can Do Today: • Finish filling out your behavior goal paper – it’s due tomorrowand you will receive a grade. This includes assistant signatures. • Research about your goal – how do you reach it? Who is a role model? What are the health benefits? Your presentations require factual info! Ask Mrs. Godzik and Mr. Begley for info / websites. • Work on your proof – print a calendar, create a graph or chart for you to complete, build a Power Point to display your pictures / video, etc. • Prepare your speech for tomorrow. You will receive a grade for the speech.
