  3. Ministry Business • Overall • To provide for the protection, conservation and wise management of Ontario’s environment • Air, land and water • Water • Protect drinking water and fresh water resourceand for their efficient and sustainable use

  4. Required Cs of A for Establishing an Anaerobic Digestion Facility (AD) • Approval under Part V of the Environmental Protection Act (EPA) • AD uses only agricultural waste → exempt • Regulated mixed AD → exempt • AD that is not in the above two categories → requires C of A • Approval under the: • Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) • Ontario Water Resources Act (OWRA); and, • Section 9 of the EPA (air approval)
