IntegratedMasterofPhysiotherapy(IMPT) Thisisasixyearsacademicprogram,dividedintotwoparts;PartI(4yrs.)and PartII (2yrs.).With thesuccessfulcompletionattheendofthePart-I course, thestudentwillreceiveaGraduateDegree(BachelorsinPhysiotherapy-BPT) • Careeropportunitiesforagraduatephysicaltherapist,BPT,are: • Tertiaryhealthcarecentreswith rehabilitationsettingsorintensivecare settingsorboth.Also,nursinghomesandhospitalscateringtospecific medicalhealthcarelikecardiaccare,general surgical care,neurological careetc. • CharitabletrustOPD’sandpolyclinics • Specialized painclinics,sportsclinics • Industrialsetup’s • Communitycentres,Geriatricnursinghomes • GeneralFitnessandWellnesscentres • Physiotherapyserviceproviders • Practiceindependentlyinprivateclinics • Practiceindependently-homevisits • AftersuccessfulcompletionofthePart-II oftheacademicprogram,thestudent willreceiveaPostgraduateDegree,MPT(Hons). • Inthe5th year,thetheoreticalbasisofphysiotherapyisrefreshedalongwith researchmethodology,biostatistics&teachingtools.Thestudentsarerotatedin allareasofclinical expertiseincluding theirspecialty duringthisperiod.During the6thyear,thestudentsarepostedintheirareaofspecialty.They arerequired tocompleteandsubmittheirdissertation.Thelearningprogramincludes seminars,journalreviews,casepresentations,casediscussionsandclassroom teaching. • Thepostgraduatephysicaltherapistwillbetrainedandequippedwiththe following:

ExpertiseinEvidence-basedskillinthemanagementofdisorders includingmovementdysfunctionintherelatedspecialty. • ExpertiseinHealthPromotion,earlyidentificationandinterventionfor • qualityoflife&restorationoffunction. • Expertiseinadequateandappropriateplanningandimplementationof treatmentprogramsforallclinicalconditions,commonaswellasrare relatedtotherespectivespecialtyintheacuteandchronicstage,in intensivecare,indoor,outdoorandinstitutional care,independent practice,onfieldsofsportsandcommunityandduringdisastersituations. • Thepedagogycomprisesclinicallearninginpostings,experiential learning,interactiveclassroomseminars,individualandclasscase presentations,journalarticlecriticalappraisals,supervisedclassroom teaching,demonstrationsandsupervisedpractical,guestlectures,camps, • fieldvisits,managerialassignmentsandaresearchdissertation.The • teaching-learningprocesslaysemphasisonleadershipandintegrative thinkingaspeergrouplearning. TrainingMethod Thetrainingof postgraduateforMPT(Hons)degreeshallbeonafull-time patternwithgradedresponsibilitiesinthemanagementandtreatmentofpatients entrustedtohis/hercare.Theparticipationofeverystudentinallfacetsofthe educationalprocessisessential.Everycandidateshouldtakepartinseminars, groupdiscussions,clinicalrounds,caredemonstrations,clinics,journal review meetingsandCME.Trainingincludesinvolvementinlaboratory/experimental workandresearchstudies. Attendance Acandidateisrequiredtoattendaminimumof80% oftrainingand ofthetotal classesconductedduringeachsemesterinallcourses.Providedfurther,leaveof anykindshall notbecountedaspartofacademictermwithoutprejudiceto minimum80% oftrainingperiodeveryyear.Anystudentwhofailstocomplete thecourseinthismanner shallnotbepermittedtoappearintheUniversity

  3. Examinations.Acandidatewhodoesnotsatisfytherequirement ofattendance eveninonesubjectwillnotbepermittedtoappearforUniversityExamination.
