Student Behaviors: Accountability • Be prompt • Be ready to learn when class begins • Arrive on time and in your seat by the time the bell rings • Be prepared • Have materials with you and know due dates • Check amundsenhs.org for work missed • Be a polite and positive participant • Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively • Language is to be academic at all times • Be productive • Turn in work on time, and always do your best • Late work is penalized by time delay periods • Be a problem solver • Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate

  3. Show Respect: Honorable • Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values in class • Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect • Honor the ideas and opinions of others • Offer to help • Be responsible with property and belongings • Work, don’t copy, to learn

Responsibility for Coursework: Scholarly • Bringbinder, planner, and appropriate writing tools to class and arrive with them • Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time • All assignments are posted on the AHS Web site and in Section 1 on Item 3 of your binder • Follow directions and ask for clarification or help as soon as you become aware you need it

Promote Lifelong Learning You can develop lifelong learning traits: • By showing curiosity about human nature and how the world works • By seeking and valuing diversity • By persisting in seeking out new solutions • By using your unique talents and intelligence to promote positive change • By learning and applying technology tools to solve problems • Cooperating and collaborating with your peers

Policies • Food, beverages and elctonicsare not allowed in the classroom at anytime • Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as class begins at that time. • Major assignments and projects can be resubmitted. They will be scored at a 10% deduction. If late, they will be penalized at 10 points per day. • Absences • Ask team members or a classmate first for assignments or check the site • Each absence has a one-day grace period for late work • Tests can be made up at 7 am following a legitimate absence in 216

Grading • Grades are based on the accumulation of percent average in each category • Categories are based on: • Class work portfolio • Completion of assignments • Major projects • Exams, tests, quizzes • Self-reflection in your binder • Grades are posted online in Student Portal and updated every week • Our Grading Scale • 90-100% = A • 80-89% = B • 70-79% = C • 60-69% = D • Below 60% = F • Grades are calculated on cumulative percentage and are rounded up whenever possible.

My Pledge to Students • I will trust you until you give me reason to do otherwise. • I will respect you and work with you to solve problems. • I will promptly correct and offer feedback on your work. • I will work with you to meet learning goals. • I will offer extra help and alternative assessments should you require them. • I will act with integrity and honesty. • I will have high expectations for you and for myself.

My Expectations of You • Participate in a positive way • Respect my feelings and values • Act like a person wanting to achieve to the utmost ability • Be honest and responsible for your own actions • Treat all persons as you wish for yourself at all times • Try to understand the needs of others for an environment that is safe for all • Demonstrate appropriate behaviors for the classroom everyday and at all times
