    1. Membership and Programs Panel Discussion 2008 District Deputy Fall Meeting December 6 & 7 Worthy State Deputy, Secretary, Treasurer, Advocate, Warden, District Deputies, Directors, Coordinators and brothers, Yesterday we set aside a couple of hours to identify issues of concern within our Diocesan Districts. Today, in the span of a single hour the state officers will attempt to address each of these high value issues with constructive and positive answers. Worthy State Deputy, Secretary, Treasurer, Advocate, Warden, District Deputies, Directors, Coordinators and brothers, Yesterday we set aside a couple of hours to identify issues of concern within our Diocesan Districts. Today, in the span of a single hour the state officers will attempt to address each of these high value issues with constructive and positive answers.

    2. Topics to Consider Program Membership DD As I worked into the night, the subjects seemed to fall into one of the following main categories. To expedite these answers to the maximum in the allowable time, I will ask the State Deputy to assist me in inviting the best State officer to answer specific topics. If you have value to add to these answers or questions we are going to try to include them however, I must warn you that there are many topics to cover in the few minutes that we have.As I worked into the night, the subjects seemed to fall into one of the following main categories.     3. Program Topics Resolution 302 Clarification Missing Supreme Awards? Contact Bob Halaska Forms On Line What’s Available Where is it? Ask yourself for a change of heart Not how will this program affect me but rather How will I have a positive affect on my brothers To start the process we will start with these Program Topics and I will first ask the State Advocate to explain the Resolution 302 Individual contributions sent directly to Supreme will not apply to the Council Assessment. Ask individuals to contribute to the Council to submit for assessment. If anyone needs help getting their Supreme award, I’m here to help Tim Genthe will you help with Forms On Line? Bob Halaska: Be positive and up beat in every thing you do. Membership Topics Scheduling of Degrees to: Milwaukee = Richard Taddey Madison = Mel Feit Green Bay = Dave Hallada La Crosse = Max Bachhuber Superior = Dr. Tom Rudolph Exemplify ASAP Use a “Decoy” with a single candidate Scheduled degrees with out candidates become practices. Promote Shining Armor Award & Golden Knight Promote as a “Family Organization” Retention begins with the 1st Degree! Worthy State Deputy would you assign a spokes person for the first subject on the membership list? Coordinator inform other DD’s and Insurance Agents to not put off or hold back candidates.     5. Membership Topics Every Council to have a prospect list Sources of List Parish Roster/Pictorial Directory RCIA Senior Round-Up/Confirmation Copy of prospect list to Field Agent

    6. Membership Topics State will look into new member welcome letter. New Members bring New Ideas Try Something Again Try Something New

DD Topics The DD’s role is to Advise the GK Hold District wide events and Joint District Events Use meeting attendance as a district wide monthly competition – the proposer should bring the new member to the first years meetings. Installation of Council Officers with Family & Guests DD to provide “New Member Information Packet @ 1st Degree Mentoring is a solution to training & Motivation Recruit your replacement (Warden) & train Long time Grand Knights are a bad sign!

    8. DD Issues Protocol Well run meetings leave a good impression Conduct and respect affects retention Be Pro-active: Identify & contact members behind on dues Have a council assignment (need) for them planned Promote our Annuities, Life & Long Term Care Insurance Redistricting Recommendations Deadlines – when’s it due? Identify Councils with need for State Leadership Team Resolutions: Life Membership Reserve Funds invested with Supreme IRS Form 990N Consider the Circle of Honor Award as your guide!
