  4. “Doesn’t the Israel-Arab conflict go all the way back to Abraham?” • The modern Israeli-Arab conflict has roots dating back to the man Abram. • He was later renamed Abraham by God, (Genesis 17:5) • Greatly respected and admired by Jews, Arabs, and Christians.

  5. Abraham, cont. • To understand the present Middle East conflict, we need to understand the history of those in conflict (the Jews and the Arabs). • Both have roots to the great patriarch Abraham. • Abram is sacred to Muslims, Jews, and Christians.

Abraham, cont. • Theologists theorize that since Abraham is idolized and celebrated by all 3 religions, perhaps, this common thread can be utilized to bring peace and harmony to the world. • The different teachings of the story of Abraham is at the root of this dynamic conflict. • Each have different interpretations & teachings about Abraham & his sons.
