Mystery of the NCAA Eligibility Center DI Requirements (to participate in athletics or receive an athletic scholarship as a freshman) • Graduate from high school • Complete 16 core courses • Earn a minimum required GPA in your core courses • 2.00 for class of 2014-2015 • 2.30 for class of 2016 and beyond • Earn a score on the SAT or ACT that meets or exceeds the sliding scale test score required for your GPA

Mystery of the NCAA Eligibility Center DII Requirements (to participate in athletics or receive an athletic scholarship as a freshman) • Graduate from high school • Complete 16 core courses • Earn a minimum 2.0 GPA in your core courses • Earn an SAT score of 820* or ACT sum score of 68* • *The writing component of the SAT and ACT are not used in calculating scores

Mystery of the NCAA Eligibility Center New DI Requirements for Class of 2016 (to participate in athletics or receive an athletic scholarship as a freshman in college) • Minimum core GPA increased to a 2.30 • 10 core credits must be completed PRIOR to senior year and those grades are “locked in” once senior year begins • 7 core credits in English, Math or Science must be completed PRIOR to senior year • Two qualifier status: Full Qualifier and Academic Redshirt

Core Course Requirements Although both divisions require 16 core credits, the subcategory course requirements are different for DI and DII English: 4 years for DI / 3 yearsfor DII Math: 3 yearsfor DI / 2 yearsfor DII Natural/Physical science: 2 years(including one year of lab science)           Additional English, Math or Science: 1 yearfor DI / 3 years for DII Social Science: 2 years Additional Core Courses: 4 years

  7. Core Course Requirements Cumulative GPA DOES NOT EQUALCore GPA It is not uncommon for the Core GPA to be an ENTIRE POINTLOWERthan the Cumulative GPA

  8. Core Course Requirements The earlier a student-athlete begins tracking their core courses, the better. Every semester counts. Student-athletes satisfy up to 33% of their NCAA core course requirements in the… FRESHMAN YEAR!!!
