Week of: October 28th – November 1st email: megan.lacour@stpsb.org office: 985-892-4311 Mrs. Lacour’s Kindergarten Class Events and Reminders What we are Learning • Thank you for all of you who chaperoned the pumpkin patch field trip last week. The kids had a blast! • It is Red Ribbon Week. On Tuesday, wear you favorite crazy socks to for “Sock it to Drugs Day!” Wednesday is the Just Say No Walk and Rally! • On Thursday afternoon, we will have a Harvest Celebration. • Be safe and have fun trick or treating on Halloween! Please do not allow children to bring candy to school this week. • We have another new student, Isabell! Welcome! That makes 22. Please keep that in mind when providing snack. English/ Language Arts (ELA): This unit offers students activities and practice in learning about Fall and Pumpkins. We will be reviewing the high frequency words and letters we have learned so far this year. Math: This unit focuses onnumbers to 10, the count sequence to 30, and counting to understand that the final number in the sequence refers to the total number of objects in the set (cardinality). Sight Words or Words Sight words are words you need to know by heart. New words in bold. I, am, can,we, red, one, the, like, two, blue, a, three, yellow, see, purple, four, go, five, green, orange, black, six Questions to ask your child this week: Can you count to 100 by 1s and 10s? How can you tell if a book is a good fit for you? What sound does the letter K make? Can you think of words that have the K sound in the beginning, middle, and end? Snack Schedule:
