  3. The Idea Behind Interact • The idea of Interact is to help members - Make new friends - Develop leadership skills - Improve their community - Make a difference in the world

  4. Interact in District 1230 • 3 CLUBS ( SO FAR! ) • RENFREW • GLASGOW • -KILMARNOCK

  5. Charities helped by Interact - CHAS - ACCORD HOSPICE - ST.VINCENT’S HOSPICE - MARY’S MEALS - ALZHEIMER SCOTLAND - POPPY SCOTLAND

  6. Annual Projects - POPPY SCOTLAND ( Collections in local town, shopping centre, schools and shops ) - GALA DAYS ( Helping Rotary at local Fetes etc ) - CHRISTMAS PARCELS FOR PENSIONERS ( Gift boxes with food delivered to local pensioners )

  7. Setting up a club - MAKE CONTACT WITH THE MANAGEMENT TEAM OF YOUR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL - SET UP EXPLORATORY MEETING - LAISON TEACHER APPOINTED - FIRST MEETING (FORTNIGHTLY) - APPOINT CLUB OFFICERS (eg President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer) - START WORKING! - GET CHARTERED!

A Typical Interact Meeting - FOLLOWS THE SAME GENERAL ORDER AS A ROTARY MEETING (Except with more chat and a lot more humour!) - PRESIDENT OPENS MEETING AND WELCOMES ANY GUESTS AND SPEAKER - PRESIDENT RUNS THROUGH REGULAR BUSINESS - DISCUSSION BY MEMBERS ABOUT ONGOING PROJECTS - SPEAKER - QUESTIONS FOR SPEAKER - CLOSE MEETING - (NO MEAL BUT OCCASIONALLY JUICE AND CRISPS)

  12. Why Interact Is The Future - HELPS TO SPREAD AWARENESS OF ROTARY IN THE COMMUNITY - INTRODUCES YOUNG PEOPLE TO ROTARY - ENABLES SPONSOR CLUB TO CARRY OUT BIGGER PROJECTS - PROVIDES POTENTIAL NEW MEMBERS FOR ROTARY IN THE FUTURE
