Important Safeguards • Read all instructions before using the machine. • To prevent electrical shock or damage of the machine, do not immerse cord, plug, or the Soymilk Maker Head in water or other liquids. Do not use a damaged power cord or plug. • Never run the machine without proper amount of water in the pitcher. • During and after the use of the machine, parts of the machine may be hot. • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. • Unplug power cord when the machine finishes it working cycles and before picking up the machine head from the pitcher, or when the machine is not in use. • Do not use outdoors. • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surface. • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. • Take extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot food, water, or other hot liquids. • If the machine is dropped or damaged or malfunctions for any reason, stop using it and contact HAPAX or an authorized distributor in your area for necessary examination and repairs.

  5. Getting to know your HAPAX 5 Soymilk Maker

  6. Before First Use of Your Soymilk Maker 1. Hold the Machine Head Handle and lift it up off the Pitcher. Always pick up the machine head by the handle. 2. Holding the Machine Head with one hand, use the other hand to twist the Filter up clockwise to remove it from the head. When re-attaching the Filter Cup to the Head, align and then turn the filter cup counter-clockwise. See diagram on the right. Be careful not to let the blades cut the filter when install and uninstall the filter. 3. Clean the pitcher, the filter cup, the heater element and the temperature sensor well with dish detergent before first use. 5. Re-attach the Filter Cup to the Machine Head. 6. Position the Machine Head on the cylinder. This machine is now ready for use.

  7. Multi-functional Protection Device • Overheating Protection Device: This model with overheating protection device. While the water inside the container is lower than our safety water level, it will alert automatically and stop working; at the same time, we should cut off the power and add suitable water, then connect the power to work. • Spill-proof Protection Device: This model with spill-proof protection device. Soymilk will not spill out when it is boiling. It will stop heating, when the foam closed to the spilt-proof sensor • Motor Overheat Protection Device: If the temperature is too high during the process of making soybean milk, the motor will shut off automatically and stop working, Only after the motor return to the suitable temperature, PTC connect to the motor, and prevent the motor from damage • Heating pipe Overheat Protection Device: When the motor happens to heating abnormally, over temperature will lead to the turn out of thermal cut-off inside the heating tube.

  8. Making Soymilk from Soaked Soybean WARNING!—During and after use, the Pitcher, the Heater Element and the Filter Cup are very hot ! STEP 1:For each batch, measure 80 to 100 grams of dry soybean with the included measuring cup (a full cup of dry soybean is 100 grams). Rinse soybean and soak for between 6 to 16 hours (8 to 10 hours best). After soaking each cup of dry soybean grows in volume into slightly less than three cups. Less than 3 CUPS

  9. STEP 2:Add drinking water into the Pitcher to between the two water level line marks. Take out Drip Pan from the Pitcher

  10. STEP 3:Pour soaked soybean into the Pitcher with the plastic measuring cup.

  11. STEP 4:Place the machine head onto the pitcher, and plug the power cord to the machine, then the power indicator should light up. (The Following Step is the same as HAPAX 6 model) Plug the Power Cord All the lights are shining together

  12. STEP 5:Push the SOAKED/DRY BEAN button. With a beep, the machine start to work through a programmed sequence. The machine will first heat the water about 80 degree C. and then start to grind the soybean. The machine will beep in 25-30 minutes to signal that the milk is done and ready for use. Note: You do not need to pre-heat the water or use hot water for this machine. However, if you do

  13. STEP 6:Remove the power cord from the machine and lift the Machine Head off the Pitcher, and pour all the soy milk with measure cup into a different container for use. Add your favorite flavor after the soymilk is cooled to room temperature or before each use.

  14. Clean the Soymilk Maker Warning! After making soymilk, the Heater and Filter Cup are very hot! You may rinse the Heater Element and the Filter Cup with tap water for a few seconds to cool it down before taking off the Filter Cup and cleaning. Do not immerse the Machine Head in water, or let water onto the top part of the machine head. To clean the Soymilk Maker, remove the Filter Cup. Be careful not to let the blades damaging the filter when remove the filter from the machine. Rinse and clean the Filter Cup with the included brush immediately after each batch. Clean the Blade, the Electrode, and the Heater Element. Use a scrub sponge if necessary. Clean the tight areas around the Heater Element, and the temperature probe with the included brush. Clean but do not remove the plastic cover on the boiling sensor.

  15. Other Yummy Recipes: All recipes use the same easy procedure as making soy milk. HAPAX Automatic Soy Milk Maker can be used to make soy, almond and other non-diary milks and beverages. Shown below are some favorite recipes. The measurements uses the cup supplied with the machine. The cup holds about 80g of dry soy. Soy sesame seed milk 3/4 cup of dry soy or 1.5 cup of soaked soy 1/2 cup of sesame seeds Note: Use roasted sesame seeds for stronger flavor. Soy almond milk 3/4 cup of dry soy or 1.5 cup of soaked soy 1/2 cup of almond Soy peanut milk 3/4 cup of dry soy or 1.5 cup of soaked soy 1/2 cup of peanut Note: Use roasted peanut for stronger flavor Green bean or Mung bean milk 1 cup of dry or 2 cup of soaked green bean. Note: Green bean milk tastes the best when sugar is added Rice sesame seed milk 3/4 cup of rice 1/2 cup of sesame seeds Note 1: Use roasted peanuts for stronger flavors Note 2: Save the contents inside the filter basket. Mix them with the milk in the pot. Rice almond milk 3/4 cup of dry rice 1/2 cup of almond Note: Do not throw away the contents inside the filter basket. Mix them with the milk in the pot.
