  1. What are stem cells? • Stem cells are undifferentiated and unique cells with the potential to develop into various specialized cell types in the body. They are capable of self-renewal and differentiation. • Their ability to repair damaged tissues make them especially important as a type of alternative treatment for a wide range of medical conditions, from neurological disorders to heart disease.

  2. Types of Stem Cells • Embryonic Stem Cells (ESCs) - Cells derived from the inner cell mass of an embryo in its early stages of development • Adult Stem Cells (ASCs) - Undifferentiated cells procured from fully developed tissues like the brain and bone marrow • Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) - Genetically reprogrammed stem cells that exhibit ESCs’ characteristics • Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) - ASCs with anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, self-renewal, cell-division, signaling, and differentiation properties

  3. Use of Stem Cells • Disease Modeling Stem cells are used to generate disease-specific cell lines which can help determine the progression of a disease, its triggers, and therapies. This can be useful in research of degenerative, neurological, and genetic disorders. • Personalized Medication Stem cells are used in patient-specific therapies by taking into account family history and disease progression. • Gene Therapy and Genetic Editing Inherited diseases are managed through genetically modified stem cells. • Regenerative Medicine Stem cells can treat a wide range of medical conditions and injuries by repairing or replacing damaged tissues and organs. From heart disease and neurological disorders to musculoskeletal injuries, the applications of stem cells can change the course of medical treatments.

  4. Types of stem cell therapy Autologous therapy • Cells are procured from patient’s own bone marrow, blood, or fat tissue Allogeneic therapy • Cells are procured from external donors

  5. Administering stem cells Stem cells can be administered in the following ways: • Intravenous • Intrathecal (directly into the spinal canal) • Inject into problem areas like hips, spine, knees, etc.

  6. Stem Cell Therapy at Plexus We use mesenchymal stem cells that are typically sourced from different types of tissue such as: • Umbilical cord - collected at the time of birth • Bone marrow - through a process called bone marrow aspiration • Adipose tissue - through liposuction • Peripheral blood - through apheresis (like blood donation)

  7. Regenerative Rehabilitation Programs at Plexus We offer customized regenerative rehabilitation for the following conditions: Stroke ● Multiple Sclerosis ● Parkinson’s Disease Spinal Cord Injury ● Spinocerebellar Ataxia ● Osteoarthritis Autoimmune conditions ● Neurodevelopmental disorders ● Muscular Dystrophies Motor Neuron Diseases ● Brachial Plexus Injury ● Myasthenia Gravis Osteoarthritis ● ACL Tear ● Sports Injuries ● Nerve Damage Cerebral palsy

  8. Benefits of stem cell therapy at Plexus • Enhanced everyday functioning • Improved quality of life • Immune system modulation and reduction of inflammation • Prevention of further nerve damage • Speedy recovery post-procedure • Non-surgical procedure • Zero complications and side-effects

  9. Stem cell therapy at India’s first ISO-Certified Stem Cell Research Center The procedure is conducted by Dr. Sadiq, India’s no. 1 stem cell specialist, and his team of highly-skilled and experienced stem cell specialists.
