U.K. Impact of Brexit on continuity of residence On December 8, 2017 an agreement was released between the UK and EU Commission providing greater certainty on residence for EU nationals currently residing in the UK, and UK nationals residing in EU countries. • 1 • 3 • 2 EU citizen who by March 29, 2019 has lived in the U.K. for 5 years or before the end of the grace period Apply for “Settled status”, and, when eligible can apply for British citizenship EU citizen arrivesin the U.K. before March 19, 2019 but has not lived in the U.K. for 5 years by the end of the grace period Blanket permission to stay in the UK during the grace period, but needs to apply for a temporary residence document, and then apply for “Settled status” once has 5 years of residence • EU citizen arrives in the U.K. after March 29, 2019, within the grace period • Can live, work and study under a new registration scheme. Once the U.K. leaves the EU, will need to obtain further permission to stay

  6. U.K. Settled Status How will the settled status scheme work? The settled status scheme is being developed The Home Office expect the “vast majority of cases to be granted” The scheme is expected to be launched in second half of 2018, with a two-year grace period after the U.K. leave the EU to make a settled status application Cost – not expected to cost more than the application for a British passport (approx. USD 100)

Australia Subclass 457 abolished and replaced with Temporary Skill Shortage Visa from March of 2018 • Abolition announced in April of 2017 by the Australian Prime Minister, and revisions have occurred systematically since • The new visa will consist of two tracks. • Big Changes since the announcement • Once TSS is rolled out in March (date yet to be announced), all occupations will be subject to labor market testing unless exempt based on a Free Trade Agreement / trade obligations

Brazil New law effective November 21, 2017 designed to promote immigration and replace a stricter system • Visitor visa category provides for tourist and business activities, among other activities where the traveler does not receive remuneration within Brazil and has no intent to reside permanently • Visa issuance rules relaxed • Intent of new rules is to make it easier to work and travel in Brazil

Digital Storage of Compliance Documentation Public Access Files In 2017, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification communicated that electronic (or digital) versions of Public Access Files will satisfy the regulatory requirements which call for the employer to maintain the “original LCA” in the file.
