  2. Recruitment 11 Extension Officers to be recruited 5 Agricultural Advisors 6 Agricultural Development Officers Advertisements placed and shortlists drawn-up. Interviews 1st and 2nd December 2008 Assumption of duties 1st January 2009

  3. Capacity Building and Training 13 officials to register to upgrade diplomas to B.Tech degrees 41 officials to be trained in Integrated Project Management with the Central Univ. of Tech. The first 2 groups has already completed this course. 7 officials to do a basic computer course. 31 officials to do Farm Management Planning. This course has already been completed. 10 Managers to do Management Development Programme.

  4. ICT Buy the following items worth about R 2.2 million : 55 laptops & Accessories & software 55 Printers 55 Digital Camera 5 Video cameras 10 Data projectors GPS’s

  5. Challenges and possible solutions No operational budget for new recruits Not sure whether to appoint engineers within this programme Reconfiguration of percentage allocations of the three different legs. To use recovery remaining money to upgrade levels
