  9. What does the rapist have to say about crime? • The thrill & power • The excitement • NO remorse • Chose“Passive” Women

  10. The Man Next Door • Most rapist prefer passive women & find aggressive women sexually threatening. • Jimmy, Roger, Roy, and Fred are four rapist that do not feel guilty for what they have done and never understood the affliction the victim will suffer from their actions.

  11. J i m m y Jimmy is a 49 year old male and raped women in order to compensate for feeling inadequate about his social position. He feels it is an awful thing taking advantage of somebody. It gave him a sense of power, a sense of accomplishing something he felt he did not have the ability to get. He said if she would have screamed, yelled, or struggled he probably would have split.

  12. “It gave me power over her and her feelings didn’t mean anything to me at all.” “ The thing that mattered was the thrill.” He has no remorse and now believes that it is damaging to women, it’s unhealthy and thinks it is wrong. He admitted he had a low opinion of himself.

  13. R o g e r Roger said his choice to rape someone was instantaneous decision. His case was handled very delicately because he was an upper-class white male. His charges were dropped and was said to be insane and went to a mental institution. Roger said he had never been violent before and hasn’t since. He said the attack ruined his life.

  14. R o y Roy is a middle-class white male. He said when he was hurting her it was exciting and gave him a feeling of power. He did not feel guilty for what he did. He believed women are depersonalized and exist only for his use and pleasure. He admitted that his desires outweighed all other considerations. He has still not been caught but there is little chance he will. If he is caught there will be a less chance for him to be convicted. He’s a “regular guy”, not a criminal.

  15. F r e d The forth and final man is a married man, 36 years of age and committed rape 30 and 90 days prior to being interviewed. He believes the police and courts aren’t severe enough to rapists. He said if the victim would have screamed he would have walked away. His motive for raping was based in part on sexual desire.
