  2. WELCOME TO RECEPTION Water bottles and snacks All Reception children are given a named water bottle which they keep in class. This is filled daily with water and they can access at any point throughout the day. In Key Stage 1 the children are given free fruit every day, we encourage children to try this fruit. We hope you all had a lovely summer. We’d Like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Reception and inform you of the curriculum this half term. Show and tell Show and tell is on a Friday. Children may bring something they would like to share and talk to the class about. This can be anything from a photograph to a favourite toy. • Our PE day is a Tuesday • PE Kit • White t-shirt • Black shorts • Pumps • Black jogging bottoms and jumper • Please ensure all PE kit is named thankyou. • Please ensure that long hair is tied back on PE days. Open doors Starting next Friday we will open the gate earlier at 3.00pm. This allows parents to come in and see what the children have been up to during the week. You will have the opportunity to look at displays, view their learning wall and look through books. This is also an opportunity to ask myself and Mrs Goodson any questions. Reading We will be sending home individual reading scheme books, these are picture books initially and the focus will be discussing the pictures and developing language.
