  2. It is the law – managers to the CEO can be held liable. Pharmaceuticals are being found in drinking water across the country. Endocrine disruptors are suspected of causing feminization of fish. EPA and New York State Attorney General’s office are inspecting facilities’ pharmaceutical waste programs. Why do we need to collect pharmaceutical waste?

  4. Partially Used Hazardous Pharmaceuticals Place in black collection containers in the medication room.

  5. How do I know if the partially used drug is hazardous waste? Pharmacy will place a black dot with HWlabel on the drug. HW

  6. What should not go in the black container? Regular trash Sharps Empty IV tubes Chemotherapy (yellow) Controlled (narcotic) drugs

  7. Waste Collection Waste will be collected once a month. If you need a pick up sooner, call EH&S, 4-6783.
