  7. What is the Budget Process? In a non municipal election year… • Mayor’s pre budget consultation (Aug – Sept) • Draft Budgets tabled with Council (late Oct) • Community Consultations (4 meetings early Nov) • Budget meetings - review of draft budgets by Council Committees, Boards, Commission (2nd - 3rd week in Nov) • Recommendations from budget meetings to Council for consideration & approval of budget (late Nov)

In an election year… • New Council is sworn in Dec 1 • New Committees established / election of new Chairs / Vice chairs (1st meetings in Jan) Subject to Council direction… • Draft Budgets tabled with Council (late Jan) • Community Consultations (4 meetings early Feb) • Budget meetings - review of draft budgets by Council Committees, Boards, Commission (2nd - 3rd week in Feb) • Recommendations from budget meetings to Council for consideration & approval of budget (early March)
