  2. Bell Work • Take out your source related to the new class novel. On the back of your source answer the following questions: • Why does this information matter? What knowledge will my peers gain? What facts will be shared?

  4. Number Off 1-4! • Take out a blank piece of paper. Write the title of the book and then “context notes.” • Share with your group the context you focused on. • Determine the order the group will present in.

  5. During Presentation • Summarize your information. • Who/What/Where/When/Why • Ask questions about the information shared. • “I’m confused about…” “Did you ever consider…” “How would ____ look today” • Determine how this may relate to the book summary. • In comparison to/In contrast to • Identify how the information goes beyond just a summary. • Draw conclusion about the topic • Explain the information • If this could be researched further it’d be interesting to look at • This supports the idea of…. • Pick concept words that may relate and decide which are best within the group.

  6. Whole Class Discussion • Create a one pager with key facts and information your group discussed about the concepts of the book, the historical, cultural, social, or geographic context. • Add to notes.
