The Need • Organizations have tracking needs across many disparate tracking devices – Many are already installed. • Many situations often require different types of users that need to be tracked and visualized - (i.e. San Diego Fire Department working Border Patrol etc). • Different Common Operating Pictures or visualization systems. • Different Network capabilities/needs (Satellite, Cell, Digital Radio) • My background and why I am here today. • Retired US Navy CAPTAIN (25 Years) • Director of Operations at NRSW • Crisis Action Team Chief – responsible for 10 installations and providing the “picture” to many different and distinct leadership. • Senior DC Leadership, Regional Commander, CAT Chief, Base Commanding Officer’s etc • 2007, 2008 CA Wildfires – Very difficult time understanding asset locations. • Variety of other incidents • Training Scenarios • My biggest need was an automated system that could provide situational awareness of our dispersed and dissimilar assets.
