  1. 2011 光通訊研討會 林清隆 講座教授1974年取得加州大學柏克萊分校(University of California, Berkeley)博士學位，後加入AT＆T貝爾實驗室的雷射科學研究部通信科學研究室，研究非線性光學與高速長距離光通訊系統，並且發明可調拉曼光纖雷射(Tunable fiber Raman lasers)、色散偏移光纖(Dispersion-shifted fibers)和色散補償光纖(Dispersion-compensating fibers)。 1986年加入Bellcore (Bell Communications Research)，並且擔任Broadband Lightwave Systems Research的主任，研究光纖放大器、可調光學濾波器、高密度分波多工系統、光纖到家寬頻接取網路。1997年加入Tyco Submarine Systems R&D Labs (formerly AT&T Submarine Systems)擔任Advanced Lightwave Technologies的技術總監，研究高密度分波多工系統和寬頻光纖放大器為基礎的超高容量長距離海底光纖通訊網路，造就現今全球光通訊網路的基礎。 2003年至2007年，林教授在香港中文大學擔任講座教授與Advanced Research in Photonics中心主任，研究的工作包含分波多工系統為基礎之被動光纖網路和新一代光纖寬頻接取網路。2008年到2010年，林教授擔任新加坡南洋理工學院客座講座教授與光電研究中心主任。目前林教授為瑞典皇家工學院Kista光學中心(Royal Institute of Technology, Kista Photonics Research Center)的訪問學者。 林教授擔任過國際重要光通訊期刊IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology與IEEE Photonics Technology Letters之副主編，學術研討會Optical Fiber Communication Conference(OFC)、European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC)與Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference(OECC)之議程委員，並榮獲IEEE Life Fellow (Photonics Society)與Optical Society of America (OSA) Fellow 殊榮。 聯絡人：國立臺北科技大學光電工程系 彭朋群副教授 電話：(02)2771-2171# 4671
