Apollo . By Francis Bae. What he is Famous for. Apollo had a big herd of cows and his nephew (also god) Hermes stole them and he made an instrument with it. Apollo liked the instrument and he said he will forgive Hermes if he gives him the instrument. It is called the lyre. His Greek Name.

  2. What he is Famous for Apollo had a big herd of cows and his nephew (also god) Hermes stole them and he made an instrument with it. Apollo liked the instrument and he said he will forgive Hermes if he gives him the instrument. It is called the lyre.

  3. His Greek Name He was a god of light and sun He was one of the most important god Ἀπόλλων—Apóllōn – Greek name Greek name means “to destroy” Ἀπέλλων—Apellōn – Roman name

  4. symbol As you read previously, the symbol is sun and the lyre.

  5. Family His father is Zeus, and his mother is Leto. He has a sister, Artemis, the goddess of the moon.

  6. Myth of Apollo There were two giant serpents and they were harming people. Apollo decided to kill them. He killed the male serpent by shooting 1,000 arrows and he turned the female serpent became women and worked in Apollo’s Temple.

  7. Weapon and Power When he killed the serpent, he used his bow and arrows. He had healing powers and he taught humans how to heal, make medicine, etc. His son became a doctor too.
