  1. Information About Different Types Of Cutting Discs and Their Uses You are looking for a way to cut, but you are not exactly sure what is the best way to go about it. As you will find out below, most materials can be cut using different types of cutting discs like aluminum oxide, diamond-encrusted, tungsten carbide or even PCD(polycrystalline Diamond). An abrasive saw blade is a cutting tool used to cut various types of materials. The cutting process happens because of the friction caused by the material being pulled against the blade's abrasive surface, which then grinds the material away.

  2. When handling disc cutters, it is crucial to take note of not only the thickness or size of the material being cut but also the material itself. Certain materials like fibreglass, plastics too hard for metal grinders, and other special materials may require more specific tooling in the cutting process. As a result, there are a number of different discs for cutting that can aid the process. Discs are the most common form of cutting tools and are used in the vast majority of applications, from engraving and grave marking to cutting through metal, stone, tile and glass. A disc blade consists of a thin outer part clad with hard materials like high-speed steel surrounding a softer inner part made of cemented carbide. Cutting Discs are some of the most commonly used tools in a modern-day shop. They're extremely affordable, require limited maintenance and last for years given proper care. What Type Of Cutting Disc Should You Use? There are a number of different cutting discs that can be used for a variety of different applications. It’s important to understand the differences between each type so that you can choose the right one for your project. Cutting Discs are made from many different materials and come in a variety of sizes, shapes and styles. There is no single type that is best for all jobs, but there are some general guidelines on how to choose the best disc for your needs. 1. Cut & Cut Cutting discs are used to cut through steel, aluminum, or other metals with a grinder or angle grinder. They're made from hard materials like tungsten carbide or diamond, so they can withstand high temperatures without breaking down. The most popular type of cutting disc is made from aluminum oxide, which is a very hard material that'll last for years, even against tough materials like stainless steel and titanium. However, if you're using an angle grinder with an extremely powerful motor (over 20 amps), then you may want to use tungsten carbide discs instead because they'll last longer than aluminum oxide discs under those extreme conditions.

  3. 2. SS (Inox) Cut-Off Discs SS (Inox) cut-off discs are made from high-quality stainless steel. These discs offer excellent performance on ferrous metals, although they may leave some discolouration on non-ferrous metals. Some SS (Inox) cut-off discs are also coated with a ceramic oxide layer for added protection. SS (inox) cut-off discs are made from tungsten carbide and coated with cobalt oxide on both sides. The cobalt oxide gives these discs their shine and helps prevent clogging during use. This type of disc is ideal for cutting through thick metals like steel and stainless steel because it can withstand high heat levels without cracking or breaking apart, like other types of material might do under similar conditions. 3. Metal Cut off the disc A metal cutting disc should be used when cutting metal or other hard materials such as stainless steel, brass, aluminum, bronze and more. Metal cut-off discs come in two different styles; standard and premium. The standard style is designed for general purpose use and can be used for a variety of tasks, including cutting sheet metal up to 1/8" thick and also for drilling holes in thin sheet metal up to 5/32". Premium metal cut-off discs can be used for all of the same applications as the standard style but with greater durability and longevity in mind. They are also harder than standard-style discs, which means they will last longer while providing better performance when drilling holes in heavy gauge materials such as low-grade steel or stainless steel. 4.Metal Stationary Cut-Off Discs These are the most popular discs used by automotive enthusiasts to cut metal. They come in various grits ranging from 60-120 grit, with the lower grits being aggressive and fast cutting while the higher grits are slower but smoother. The stationary discs are designed to be used on stationary machines such as angle grinders, bench grinders and portable belt sanders. They can also be used on handheld rotary tools such as cordless drills or handheld rotary tools with an attachment like a Dremel tool or flex shaft.
