  10. Textile field is one of the oldest professional field and career.

  11. Textile industry is the major economic sector of Pakistan and it will continue to be the backbone and the main driving force in the industrial sector.

  12. Textile contribute around 55% of the total export earning of Pakistan. It is the largest employer accounting for 39% of the total industrial workforce that is about 2.77 Million

  13. What is Textile Engineering? It is branch of Engineering which deals with study of textile raw materials, techniques and manufacturing technologies of textile products, treatments, with related testing, quality control and management aspects.

Introduction to B.S Textile Engineering at SFDAC With the changing scenario of textile globally and the new challenges faced by the local textile sector, the need of educated and technically sound personnel considerably increases. To realize the need of the hour, SFDAC, In affiliation with NTU has introduced textile engineering program aiming at human resource development and to provide professional education to cater the requirement of the textile and allied sector.

SYNTHETIC FIBRE DEVELOPMENT & APPLICATION CENTRE • (NATIONAL TEXTILE UNIVERSITY) Objective/FUNCTION OF ORGANIZATION Research and Development: Research specially in the field of manmade fibers will be carried out as per textile policy. Plans are being made and work on cooling towers required for manmade machines has been started. Further work on machines are being planned. Testing: SFDAC is providing textile testing facilities to textile sector, it can be further improved after maintenance and up gradation of instruments. Education and Training : After becoming constituent college of NTU, Number of students and quality of education will increase. Courses for Masters and Ph.D level will be started. Short courses: SFDAC will disseminate knowledge through short courses in textile sector

  45. Eligibility for admission • F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) or equivalent (A-Level) with a score of minimum 60% Marks. • Clearance of NTS (NAT-IE) / Entrance Test. • Result awaiting candidates may also apply. Last Date for submission of application is August 20, 2015.

  46. HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION? • Download admission form from SFDAC Website and send to Admission office along with Rs.1200/- Original online bank deposit slip. • The prospectus along with admission form is also available from the SFDAC admission office in person on payment of Rs.1000/-
