  1. Advantages of Dental Implants Over Dentures

  2. Dental Implants • If you’re missing several teeth and would like to replace them, you probably have already done your initial research. • Among options available for you at the dental office are dental implants and dentures. Dental implants are preferred by patients as they offer a permanent solution. • An implant is a titanium screw that serves as the root of the tooth, which eventually fuses into the jawbone. This fusion gives your replacement tooth stable support.

  3. Unlike Dentures, Implants are Fixed in the Mouth. Here are More of their Advantages:

  4. Preserves Jawbone • Dental implants help preserve the jawbone and avoid your face from looking sunken. Without teeth, there’s nothing to support your facial structure. • Tendencies are you’ll look thinner and older than your actual age. The absence of teeth may also cause the bone to deteriorate. • With implants, this can be prevented. Dentures do not have this ability, but they can still help you smile more confidently.

  5. Functions Like Natural Teeth • Dental implants are screwed to the jawbone and designed for the replacement teeth to look and feel natural. • You can speak, chew, and eat normally. Your replacement teeth will not slip out of your mouth. • With dentures, you might still feel a little conscious or worried as they can fall out anytime. They may also feel awkward at first.

  6. Does Not Require Adhesives • Since implants are fused to the jawbone, you no longer need to use adhesives to keep them in place. • They will stay secure and so will your replacement teeth. • With dentures, your dentist may still recommend the use of adhesives for your comfort and convenience.

  7. Makes Chewing Easy • You do not have to make drastic changes to your diet with a dental implant. • Your implant will be able to handle the forces of chewing. You can eat hard or crunchy food, but you will still need to practice good oral hygiene habits. • With dentures, you need to be extra careful with what you eat. It does not have the same chewing capacity as implants.

  8. Long-Lasting • With dental implants, you do not have to keep coming back to your dentist. But, staying on top of your routine checkups will still be necessary. • Implants are a long-term solution to missing teeth and they do that without any special care. • Brush and floss as you normally would. Dentures, on the other hand, will have to relined to ensure it still fits your mouth right.
