  2. 2nd Bull Run • What: Commander Lee didn’t want people crossing his territory. • When: August 29th-30th 1862 • Where: Prince William Country, Virginia. The fighting took place on Groveton, Gainesville, and Brawner’s Farm. • Why: The union was fighting to preserve itself. The North was trying to weaken the South. • Who: Union vs. Confederate • How: The belligerent assault on the Union lasted up to a few hours. Captain Longstreet had vigorously terminated the Union forces and had sealed the Confederate Conquest, for Lee

President of Washington and Lee University. Union Commander Union Maj. Gen. John Pope Born in Louisville, Kentucky. Fought in American Civil war and the Apache wars. He died at Ohio Soldiers’ home, near Sandusky, Ohio.

  7. Conclusion of the Battle The conclusion of the battle at Bull Run is that confederates won the battle, and the union retreated. So the war wasn’t a full war due to the Union backing down because they were unprepared and didn’t have the right equipment.
