  9. Benchmarking Questions: I have challenged my Purchasing Manager to investigate consolidating our Production Vendor Base. I am seeking benchmarking information. If I could ask folks to share: • Description of Business

  12. Lean Best Practices:

  13. I would look at commodities first to see how many vendors overlap capabilities. Different industries vary widely.

  14. I’m not sure metrics are the right way to go at this point. You might ask folks about Best Practices of Supplier Reduction Programs.

  15. It is true the fewer suppliers the fewer supplier processes you have to monitor and the bigger impact you have with larger $ volume.
