  2. BACKGROUND The Freeway Management System meeting is regularly attended and based on observations of incidents it was found that busses are over represented in the numbers that take place. Road Safety Management was tasked to look into this. This resulted in a meeting that took place with Golden Arrow Bus Services. Various issues were raised, among others the “right of way” of busses. This is a concept that is in force in many part of the world and consideration needs to be given for implementation in South Africa.
