Welcome to 5th Grade – Meet the Teacher o Give your teacher your child’s transportation information – provide younger sibling’s car tag # or see your teacher if you are the only child in your family attending Shafer (Everyone needs a car tag #) o Complete the yellow information card (both sides) and leave on your desk. o Complete yellow backpack card and leave on your desk. o Meet your switch teachers – see contact information card on desk. o Drop off school supplies at your desk – but do not unpack them.

  5. Le Anna Foley 5th Grade ELA Jacob • I am a native Houstonian • I have my undergraduate from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master’s from The University of Houston Clear Lake • This is my 21st year of teaching • My son Jacob is a sophomore at Texas State University • I have 2 step-children: Casey who graduated from Ohio State (Go Bucks!) and Jordan who graduated from The University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) • My husband should moonlight as a comedian, he’s so silly • I have a Chiweenie named Lucy • I love spending time with my family and friends • I don’t like to cook but find myself looking at Pinterest for neat recipes.   6. - I was born in Baton Rouge Louisiana, and grew up in Zachary Louisiana. - I graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and Biblical Studies. - I served in the Army National Guard for 12 years where I worked as a machinist, mechanic, chaplain’s assistant, and soldier. I earned the rank of Sergeant. - I have been married for 11 years, and we have a son and a daughter. - I have taught second grade and fifth grade. This will be my second year in Katy, and I love being a silver knight. - When I am not teaching math I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and working with my Boy Scout tro0p. David Dixon 5th Grade Reading/Social Studies/Writing • I was born in Houston. • Served in the Navy on the USS Kitty Hawk CV 63. • Graduated from University of Houston • Married to a wonderful lady (Veronica) and lucky dad of Aminah, Yusef, Christian, Kaila • Coaching my kiddos, Golfing, Grilling, Philosophy, Cooking, and growing Tomatoes are my hobbies.

Crickett Montgomery5th grade Science • Texas girl, which yall will understand when you hear me talk! • Texas Tech graduate Guns Up • Teacher for 11 years, but I have worked in education for 27 years. • Married for 32 years to the greatest husband and my best friend. • Two daughters: Samantha, who is married and has one child and Adrienne, who is getting married in October. • One of the cutest redheaded grandsons you will ever meet!!!!! • EXCITED about another year as a SHAFER KNIGHT!! Keri HenryFifth Grade ELA/SS Teacher • Born in Kansas...lived in Missouri, Ohio, and Texas • Starting 25th year - have taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 5th • Currently have 2 Spartan daughters - SLJH & SLHS • Visited 48 out of 50 states - North Dakota & Vermont are still on my list • Starting 10th year as a Girl Scout Leader - retired Cookie Mom • Proud to be a Shafer Knight!

Jaclyn Jost5th Grade Math • I’m a true Texan and love my state! • Graduated from Baylor University - Sic ‘Em! • I love my family and spend most free time with them. • My son, Jackson, will be a kindergartner at Shafer this year! • This will be my tenth year teaching. • I feel blessed to call Shafer my home.

Riley Kirby Kim McKinney 5th grade Science • I’m originally from Oklahoma and went to OSU in Stillwater, OK • This will be my 25th year of teaching. • I’ve taught 1st - 5th grades, but 5th is my favorite! • I have a wonderful husband and two boys: Logan just graduated from CRHS and is attending Blinn Jr. College & playing football. Collinwill be a Junior at Trinity University in San Antonio and also plays football. • It’s a crazy time during football season because we travel every weekend to watch them play, but I do find some boutiques to check out along the way! • We have two shih-tzu’s - Riley & Kirby • I’m looking forward to another fabulous year at Shafer!
