Modern Impact • Almost exactly mirrored modern European’s achievements • Most notable are their algebraic advances • Biggest achievement was spreading the Indian base-ten numbering system • Constructed an astrolabe used both in mathematics and astronomy One of the early Arabic/Islamic astrolabes. 1309 CE, the first astrolabes were manufactured around the seventh century CE.
