  2. Survey question 1 • 1. Do you live on-campus or off campus? • 2. We found out that 81.06% of the students live off-campus and 18.92% live on campus. • 3. Majority of the students who took the survey don't live on campus.

  3. Survey Question 2 • 1. Do you have an annual parking permit or a daily pass? • 2. About 76% of the students who answered this question have an annual parking permit, while 24% have the daily pass. • 3. Most students who took the survey would rather buy a parking permit than pay for parking everyday.

  4. Survey Question 3 • 1. Is the price for either the annual parking permit or the day pass worth the cost? Why or why not? • 2. 23% of the students answered yes, while 74% said no. Most the people who answered yes said it was because they said they didn't have a choice. While, most people who answered no said it was because the prices were too high for limited parking. • 3. The majority of the students who answered this question said they felt like they didn’t have a choice but to buy it.

  5. Survey Question 4 • Do you think there are parking issues on campus? • Out of 37 people that took our survey, 36 people answered this question. 34 people (94%) said yes and 2 people (6%) said no. • According to these responses we can see that the majority of people think there is a problem with the parking system. We can use this in our report and say the majority of students are concerned with the parking system.

  6. Survey Question 5 • Does you schedule make it hard for you to find a space? • Out of 37 people that took our survey, 26 people (70%) said yes and 11 people said no (30%). • We know that 70% of the people have schedules that make it hard to find parking.

  7. Survey Question 6 • Would you be willing to pay an extra $15 dollars in addition to the $270 for the annual parking permit for a guaranteed parking spot? • 15 people say yes (42%) and 21 people said no (58%). • Most people said they would not pay $15 more dollars in addition to the $270 for the parking permit.

  8. Survey Question 7 • Would you want more parking spaces to be built? • 89.19% of students responded that they would like more parking spaces to be built. 10.81% of students responded they would not like more parking spaces to be built. • Most students who took this survey would want more parking spots to be built.

  9. Survey Question 8 • Which of these locations do you park your vehicle at (choose all that apply): UC Merced, Merced College, Other • 78.38% of the students said they parked at UC Merced, 10.81% said they parked at Merced College and 10.81% chose other. • According to the responses, most students park at UC Merced.

  10. Survey Questions 9 • Why do you choose to park where you identified in the previous questions. • Questions #9 is a follow up question to #8 and the majority of the students who took our survey park on campus because it was either their only option or for convince.

  11. Question #10 • Should visitors have a different parking lot than students? • 68.57% said Yes 31.43% said No • 68.57% of our respondents thought it would be less of a hassle for everyone visitors had a different parking lot than students and also students wouldn’t have to worry about having finding a parking space.

  12. Overall thoughts on our findings • What we discovered from the surveys will help support our proposal because the majority of the participants of our surveys were aware of the parking situation. We can use the information gathered in our proposal to support building a new parking lot. Also, the students who took our survey provided their opinions on what they thought should be done which we can use in our proposal.
