  2. Hello Students! Today you will be asked to read and learn about the very famous author, Edgar Allan Poe. You may remember touching briefly on some of his tales and poems in class. This study module should take you the whole class period depending on how fast you go through the material. But remember you should always take your time and read through the material thoroughly.

  3. At the end of the learning process you will be given a short quiz over the material you have learned, so be prepared. Take your time, learn some good stuff, and as always, have fun!

  24. Now that you are finished reading lets spend some time looking at character development. This short story is somewhat hard to understand so lets work through it together.

  25. The main character seems to be quite crazy and as you read he continues to try and explain himself. He actually spends most of the story doing this.

  26. But the real question is what is making him so crazy? From what we know from reading the story it is the old man’s eye that makes the narrator so upset.

  27. Now that we have established that it is the eye that makes him crazy we can look at the other contributing factors.

  28. The main character has a very elaborate plan to kill the old man, but he can only do it when the filmy white eye is visible. This definitely suggests that he is crazy.
