  5. NOTES B. Living things sense and respond to change. • A change that causes a response is called a stimulus. • Organisms maintain a stability in their body called homeostasis.

  6. NOTES C. Living things reproduce (make more organisms like themselves).

  7. Notes D. Living things have DNA which determines an organism’s characteristics.

  8. Notes Living things produce and use energy to carryout their activities. All the chemical activities inside an organism are called metabolism.
