  1. Students will experience the world through detailed cultural information using Culture Grams as they choose a country to research. This cultural project is a unit designed so that students will learn that all cultures have value while learning to make an electronic slideshow using PowerPoint. Students will research background information on a country of their choice and then learn how to create and deliver a multimedia presentation. This unit will focus on how to research and cite sources. New Keys: ‘ “ We will work on accuracy, and strengthen reaches to third, home, and bottom rows. • Analysis of 2nd quarter grades—goals for 3rd quarter • How to work with text in PowerPoint, learn how to format background using patterns/gradients and texture. • How to add custom animation/sound to a PowerPoint • How to add transition to a PowerPoint,action buttons • How to “peer edit” • How to cite your source (text)—review with handout—create a bibliography using Easy bib online generator • GKC 1.10 and 1.11 • PowerPoint Test (study guide and test online) and Cutlure Project Self Assessment Standards: 1.24, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 2.1, 3.2, Reading: Informational Text ELA-Literacy Draw on information from multiple print or digital sources, demonstrating the ability to locate an answer to a question quickly or to solve a problem efficiently

See how you do and you may use this as a study tool for the upcoming test. You may take it at home as many times as you want! Hand out grade sheet…analyze and set goals for 3rd quarter. Standards: 1.24 TODAY’S AGENDARotation 13 Class #3 You will need a paper from the red star bin (Self Assessment worksheet) and a pen/pencil Log onto computer • Go to start programs PowerPoint open up your culture project • Put your name and group on paper and answer the questions by placing points earned on your project. This paper will go into your group bin to be used class #3. This is due on Class #5. • Demo how to add action buttons/sound to your show Things to think about... How do you add sound to your presentation? Will adding sound make my presentation better?

Standards: 3.2 TODAY’S AGENDARotation 13 Class #4 You will need your peer edit worksheet from the bin and a pen/pencil Log onto computer • Get an online connection---click on test link and click on PowerPoint Basics Test (group 2 class #5) • Open up your culture project • Delete all completed Criteria Boxes • Peer Edit Teach somebody how to add action buttons! Why would I use an action button in my slideshow? How does an action button work?
