  3. Texas State Flag • Texas became a state in 1845.

What is Texas like? • Texas is made up of plains and ranches • It’s natural resources include: Oil, lumber, salt, sulfur ,gypsum, natural gas, solar power, biomass, water, coal, silver, gold • Some of the industry and farming include: petroleum and natural gas, farming (cotton, livestock), steel, banking, insurance, tourism

  5. Famous People from Texas • Selena Gomez was born in Texas and is a famous singer. • Beyoncé Knowles is a pop singer from Texas.

  6. The History of Texas • In 1845, Texas became a state. • In 1964 the NASA established its headquarters in Texas. • In 1689 Mexican explorer Alonso de Leon reached Fort St. Louis, and found it abandoned, during an expedition planned to reestablish Spanish presence in Texas.

  7. The Climate in Texas • Texas’ climate is hot and cold • In the Spring, it is 60 to 70 degrease • In the Summer, it is around 83 degrease • In the Fall, it is around 50 degrease • In the Winter, it is 36 degrease
