  7. The Heart and Lungs • The heart is a pump. It moves the blood through the blood vessels to other parts of the body. Oxygen is carried by blood. • The harder the body works, the more oxygen it needs. • It is very important to remember to breathe while you are exercising.

Aerobic Exercise • Aerobic exercise that makes the heart beat faster and makes you huff and puff, and is done for 15 minute or longer without stopping. • List some aerobic exercises.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

  12. Physical Fitness • Your fitness plan should be done 3-4 times a week. • You need to elevate your heart rate. • Include aerobic exercise for 15-30 minutes. • Include a warm-up and cool down.

  13. Stress Management • 1. Hold contractions for five seconds then relax completely. Feel the difference between tense, tight muscles and soft, relaxed muscles. • 2. Take slow deep breaths. Fill your lungs up as if they were balloons. Hold for 10 seconds. • Think about something that makes you feel happy.
