  9. KBML : • Working on solutions after users’ comments • Decompression chamber : KB policy remains as today • New deadline : 1 April of each year • Important for planning the high season (labs & chemical orders) • Price: according to the provenance of the scientists • Teisten : • Operative from April to October (if ice condition is ok) • Deadline for booking: as soon as possible • CTD : • Common measurements twice a year (Mai & September) • Common metadata protocol • Where to store it? • Flagship 2008: SSF & IOPAS ?

  10. Booking Portal: • New portal is under developement. Ready for Mai 2014 • Project is led by the Norwegian Research Council, designed by Inmeta • Will include • The RiS database • booking portal for KB, Governor of Svalbard, NP and AWIPEV

  12. Building for Light sensitive / all-sky instruments – possible location

  13. UTM 33X 0462388 8765178

  14. Scheteligtoppen 719 m Zeppelin 556 m AZIMUT Zeppelin: 7,7 Schetelig: 12,8 Ca. 10 m from the new road KV anennas • Spot with • less light pollution (incl. from the KV antennas), • less mountain shadows, • low traffic, • less tundra • closest location to electricity and ethernet 10 m

  15. GIS – let’s do it for good !!!

  16. GIS • KB take care of GIS system • KB & SMS will be working to harmonize the GIS system • NP provides the terrestrial map (as discussed previously) • Stations provides the necessary info continuously • Availability & Funding: some solutions are studied • Let start it small and grow bigger afterwards • Necessary info: • Station (as contact) • owner (Institute) • Instrument name / setup, data collected, time frame, frequency / day, picture • Radius (no disturbance) • RIS • Network • Use of frequencies • Permission granted from SMS, KB, NySMAC (time frame) • GPS position

  17. Process: • Stage 1 : Ongoing instruments/setup/webcam run by each station within the village & Kongsfjorden • Stage 2: Instruments/setup lying within KB owned land (Brøggerhalvøya) • Stage 3: Inventory of “historical” measurements • Deadline Stage 1: next NySMAC in April 2014 • New policy: • Avoiding scientific garbage & giving access to new projects • Dismount any instruments/setups if no info/no claim • If potential use of an existing instrument/setup in the near future • Every 6 months (15 April & 15 September) • After 2 years of inaction, the instrument/setup will be removed by KB
