  1. 5 crucial tips for every public speaker to leave an impression on the attendee’s minds! Public speaking can be quite daunting especially if you are doing this for the first time! Your audience would look up to you as a calm, composed, confident and knowledgeable public speaker and I’m sure no public speaker would want to appear nervous and anxious on stage in front of his audience. Hence this blog will especially help you overcome the anxiety and appear confident on stage. Let’s get rolling! 5 crucial tips for every public speaker-

  2. 1. Never start with your talk immediately- Now this may sound weird to you, but this actually matters! A lot of guest speakers make these mistakes of starting the talk immediately once on stage but this conveys a bit of insecurity and fear. Therefore I would suggest taking a bit of time once you are on the stage. Take a deep breath, find a suitable place for yourself, take a quick glance at the audience and then start. This would make you appear confident and totally in charge of the situation. 2. A good public speaker makes an eye contact with the audience- This can sound a bit difficult but trust me this will help you connect with your audience. For instance you can have your gaze on a particular person from the audience and once you finish your statement you can move on to another person and likewise keep connecting with as many people as you can! This way you can have a personal connect with the attendees and also the entire audience can also feel it. 3. Ignore the disinterested people- A good public/guest/event speaker knows how to ignore people who are scrolling through the phone, crossing their arms, yawning throughout the session, staring at others and so on. Focusing on these people can be quite disturbing hence ignoring them would be the best thing to do. Rather focus on people who are genuinely interested in listening to you. This would not just boost your confidence but also make you feel good! 4. Practice body language- Communication is not just about words but also about body language and movements as it is rightly said “actions speak louder than words”. Make use of

  3. your body language to emphasise on the statements you make. Project confidence through body language. Get out there and own the auditorium with your confident body language. 5. Be yourself and let your personality come through- This is the most important point which I would like to emphasise on. No matter what event you are speaking at, be it seminar, leadership and team building seminar, corporate workshop, motivational workshop, etc always remember to be yourself! Do Not mimic any other public speaker. People have come to see the real you, they are here to listen to your ideologies and thoughts. The audience can relate to you only if they see the real you and hence establish better credibility. So these were the key points which I would like to highlight in this blog. In addition to this there are many other parameters which play an important role when it comes to leaving an impression on audience minds like using audiovisual aids rightly, using humor, finishing the talk in time and much more. Additionally you can also check out my last blog on 5 things to consider before hiring a guest speaker here. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!
