History of the School • September 1,1935 to 1938 - Eight year full-time study Military Gymnasium; • September 1,1949 to 1996 - Four year full-time study Jan Žižka Military Gymnasium; • September 1,1996 to 2006 - Four year full-time study MoD Technical High School; • September 1,2006 – MoD Military High School and College. • 1922 – Russian Gimnasium (Russian immigrants after revolution); • 1939 – 1945 Prisoner of War Camp (4500 French, British and Jugoslavian officers); • 1945 – 1947 – HQs Tank Corps 1; • 1947 – 1949 – Tank Brigade 11 garrison.

  4. The Organization of Czechoslovak Legionaries Since 1997 our military high school has been proud to bear the honorary title in association with the Organization of Czechoslovak Legionaries – „The school of the Organization of Czechoslovak Legionaries“.

Educational programs • TECHNICAL LYCEUM- Four year full-time study (330 students, age 15 - 19); • ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING- Four year full-time study (30 students, age 15 - 19); • TECHNICAL LYCEUM- Three year part-time study (180 students, adults); • COLLEGE – Five semester part-time study (45 students, adults); • NATO/STANAG 6001 SLP 2 language courses (English); • Word-processing courses.

TechnicalLyceum Graduate Receives • Complete high school education finished with the school leaving examination; • STANAG 6001 certificate (Level 1, Level 2); • Computer literacy attestation - ECDL certificate (European Computer Driving License); • Driving license; • Initial military training; • Basic military experience.

Brief overview of the educational process • Study, educational aids and materials are free of charge; • Students are accommodated in three and fourbedrooms; • Catering of the students is fully covered by the MoD; • The school has a dispensary with one surgery, two in-patient wards and a dental surgery.

Language training Main objectives: • To provide STANAG SLP 2 training in English/four-year study • To provide second foreign language training- French, Russian, German/ four-year study • Three-year study – mandatory English language training finished with the school leaving exam • To organize courses of English language as required by MOD
