  2. A healthy baby is all that matters? Birth is a life defining experience that sticks with you. Ask most mums about their birth story and you can see and hear the emotions rush as they share these stories good or bad that we vividly relive over and over whether we want to or not

  3. Vaginal Birth after Caesarean (VBAC) and trauma clinic Aims 90% of women experience a positive, respectful, family centered birth. Women are invited to attend clinic and discuss what would give them the most positive birth experience. Information and communication which is understood facilitates the shared decision making.

  4. Results so Far • 14 women with previous traumatic births all requesting elective C Section – outcome 11 SVD; 2 Emergency C Section & 1 elective C Section • All 16 women referred with anxiety/trauma not associated with childbirth have achieved the birth outcome they requested You helped make a very calm entrance for my baby boy and I will always be thankful to you At your VBAC clinic you talked me through my past labour and explained why decisions were taken and in our hour meeting you lifted a huge weight and relieved me of guilt I have silently carried for a year. You were supportive in my hope for a VBAC and I left feeling positive about my second birth You being there made such a difference to us and thankfully say a much better experience Thank you for your input in ensuring my daughter had a positive labour and birth experience. The preparation and care given was excellent

  5. Lorna’s Story • Her first birth 2 ½ years ago A boy Cameron. • Forcep delivery. • Requested an Elective C Section in this pregnancy due to previous birth trauma – referred to clinic…………
