Question #1 • Explain the reasons behind recent efforts to make the promotion of physical activity engagement a central goal for school physical education programs. • Increase health programs • Decrease in chronic diseases • People of all ages and gender benefit from regular physical activity • 30 min. of walking, 15 min. of running, or 45 min. of physical activity • Greater amount of physical activity = greater benefit • Longer duration and more intense activity

Question #6 • Evaluate how physical maturity affects the physical skills of students. • Three classifications of maturity • Early, late, average • Early mature have more body fat • Late mature catch up in height not weight • Most common method • Comparing chronological age to skeletal age • Mature earlier = better motor performance • Many physical activities require to be stronger
